‘Alan’ wins award at Eberswalde filmfest

Iranian short film ‘Alan’ has won an award at the Eberswalde Film Festival in Germany.

Directed by Mostafa Gandomkar, the film won the best short film award of the 15th edition of the German event.

‘Alan’ competed with 38 other short films from US, Spain, France, Australia and China.

The 20-minute flick narrates the story of a Kurdish family in Syria a day before the ISIS attack turns their world upside down.

'Alan' has already screened in a number of international festivals and has won some awards including the first prize at the 14th edition of the Constance Short Film event in Germany.

Filmfest Eberswalde is a small professional film festival close to Berlin, Germany.

There are 5 competition sections: short feature film, animation film, documentary film, audience award short film, audience award documentary film.

The festival was held on October 7-14, 2018.
